Message from the Church Wardens

Our Rector has left: what happens next?

The Churchwardens (Sandra Bradshaw and Rosemary Smith) are responsible for the Parish during the Vacancy, taking advice as appropriate from the Rural Dean. They have also been appointed by the PCC to act as its representatives in connection with the selection of a new incumbent.

The PCC has agreed the "Parish Profile" which describes the Parish, the Church, the life of the Church in our Parish, and  our requirements to be taken into account in the recruitment of our new Rector.  The Archdeacon discussed the Parish Profile in detail with the PCC on 17th November and has satisfied himself that it accurately reflects the needs of the Parish.

The Vacancy will be advertised in the Church Times early in January and interviews are planned for February

Who will be taking our church services during the Vacancy?

During the Vacancy period our normal pattern of services will continue, as will Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals.

Services will be led by members of our own team of ordained and lay ministers, supported occasionally by visiting clergy and speakers.
