Marriage

Can we get married at Holy Trinity Church?

We delight in all enquiries concerning Holy Matrimony.

  • You can be married at Holy Trinity church if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • You are a resident of the parish of Orton Longueville.

  • You are a regular worshipper at Holy Trinity parish church.

  • You are the child of regular worshippers of Holy Trinity parish church.

For couples who do not fall into the above three categories it is still possible to be married at Holy Trinity church if you both become regular worshippers (at least 2 Sundays per month) for a period of six months before your Wedding day.

Please note, from Summer 2008, these requirements changed considerably and it is much easier to be married at Holy Trinity providing some connection with the church can be established.

We generally welcome enquiries for marriage when both bride and/or groom have a previous marriage which has been dissolved. A service of Blessing and dedication after a Civil Marriage is also an option.

We also welcome enquiries about inter-faith marriage.

What is a marriage service?

A marriage service, wherever it is held, is a public declaration of love and commitment to your partner. If you choose to get married at Holy Trinity, there is an added dimension - the assurance that God cares about your relationship. Including God in your marriage does not mean that you will avoid all the usual up and downs, but you will know that you can look to God for help and guidance and that his love will sustain you.
