Remembrance Sunday ~ 2007

Remembrance Sunday was marked by a special service where we were joined by representatives of the uniformed organisations.

We remembered those killed in war and their family and friends who were left behind to grieve.  We also remembered those serving to-day in the armed forces and prayed for God to protect them.

The congregation then proceeded out into the churchyard and across to the Orton Longueville village War Memorial.

Colours of the Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts were paraded and wreathes and poppies were laid on the Orton Longueville War Memorial.

At 11 o'clock we observed a two minute silence marked at the start and finish by signal rockets.

We remembered the servicemen from the village who were killed in the First and Second World wars as their names were read out.
