We meet in church for the first hymn and blessing and then make our way across to our room at The Orton Hall Hotel.
We welcome all newcomers currently in Year 7 to age 16. The Café Menu is based on the common worship lectionary and the inspiration for Café Logos is found in Psalm 34, ‘taste and see that the Lord is good’ and
in Peter 2:1-12, ‘a living stone’. The idea is to identify with Jesus as the Living Stone by discussion
(‘taste and see’) and to explore faith in Jesus through the use of the ‘Logos’ (God’s
living message). Sessions are based either on the Gospels and explore
the life of Jesus; or the Epistles and examine Christian life, or the Psalms, taking a closer look at how being a Christian
can affect our daily lives. Each
‘weekly’ menu is divided into 6 parts: Today’s Special: theme and Bible reading for the day Nibbles: activities
which focus the group on the day’s theme; warm-up Tasty Bit: music, dramas, song Chewy Bit: the main teaching session Munchy Bit: discussion, thought and focus Afters:
prayer, reflection and ideas
for sharing. Timetable: DATE | LEADER | TOPIC | 13.01.08 | Julie Ardern | To the Power of Three! The Baptism of Jesus | 20.01.08 | Jenny Jessop | Something to bleat
